SHELLY O’BRIEN

CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER, GENERAL COUNSEL, CORPORATE SECRETARY

Ms. O'Brien joined Envestnet in 2002 and is responsible for the firm-wide legal and compliance function. As a member of the executive team, O’Brien works closely with Envestnet’s Board of Directors and senior leadership on legal and regulatory matters, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and other strategic business initiatives. 

 

Prior to joining Envestnet, O'Brien was General Counsel and Director of Legal and Compliance for ING (U.S.) Securities, Futures & Options which operated ING’s global exchange-traded derivatives activities. 

 

O'Brien earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Northwestern University. She earned a J.D. from Hamline University School of Law and an LL.M in Taxation from John Marshall Law School.
