In the spirit of helping customers and partners elevate what they and the industry can do, Envestnet | PMC is pleased to recognize asset managers that go above and beyond during this year’s 19th annual Envestnet Asset Manager Awards. The winners this year were announced at a ceremony during Envestnet Summit 2023 – Elevate at the Colorado Convention Center.
This past year has been a difficult period of time—not just for equities and fixed income, but also for all asset classes. The 2023 Envestnet Asset Manager Award winners and finalists shined in a very uncertain market, but their strong performance was not the only reason they were honored.
PMC considers a variety of qualitative and quantitative criteria when selecting award winners and finalists, including tax efficiency, investment process and style, customer service, composite, and firm profile, in addition to performance.
The Envestnet Asset Manager Awards are not just about bestowing honors on asset managers whose strategies and funds make money. They are about recognizing consistent communication and collaboration with investors in the volatile world in which we live.
This human touch can often get lost in our fast-paced existence, but this year’s Envestnet Asset Manager Award winners have consistently maintained it.

In addition, Boston Partners was chosen from among the winners as Manager of the Year for embodying overall excellence via the management of its Boston Partners Global Long/Short Fund. The fund was launched in 2013 under the current portfolio managers (Christopher Hart, CFA and Josh Jones, CFA), who are supported by 32 analysts (the research team members average 17 years of experience and 12 years at the firm). While the fund has previously faced challenges due to its value bias, this worked in its favor in 2022, when value outperformed growth due to rising interest rates and the end of quantitative easing.
Envestnet PMC was impressed by not only the performance of the Boston Partners Global Long/Short Fund, but by how the portfolio management and research teams overseeing the fund have stayed true to the strategy and to their values over time. That includes their commitment to serving and engaging with investors.
Congratulations to all of the Envestnet Asset Manager Award winners, and we are glad that so many Envestnet Summit 2023 – Elevate attendees were able to celebrate with them during the evening’s ceremony.
